Purple Elephant Stories presents two beautiful books as part of their Eco Literacy Series for young readers. The first book, A Girl and the Dog, explores themes of pet abandonment and adoption, while the second and latest book, The Milk Thief, delves into human-animal conflicts, coexistence, and inclusivity.
Both books are exquisitely crafted with hand-drawn water color illustrations and rich, engaging language. To encourage further engagement, each book features activities at the end of the story designed to spark meaningful conversations with children.
About Purple Elephant Stories
Rich story telling that encapsulates inclusive and responsible living, helps give momentum to building a kinder, more empathetic society bound together by the power of shared stories and narratives.
P.E.S will narrate stories that are deep seated in the laws of life and the role of nature in the true wellbeing of humankind. At the soul of these stories are the interdependencies of this world. Our stories would attempt to help children connect to the nature around us through engaging and rich story telling. These stories would aim at eco literacy so that our children understand the world around them and feel at one with it.

My Story
Leena J Haldar
Mother, Montessori Educator, Traveller, Storyteller
Leena has always loved stories. Growing up, eagerly listening to her grandmother and later voraciously consuming them as a reader. But it was in her years as a Montessori educator that she truly realised the impact stories could have. She wrote stories and plays to imbibe in her students a love for nature.

The feedback from her students over the years, honed her storytelling. Lessons from life or balance and kindness are set lightly to be explored with joy. Purple Elephant Stories brings these narratives to a wider audience across the world.
While children need all the hard facts of life... These must be rendered to them in a positive, engaging and fun way.
